In the past, we have heard demands from the Left to “defund the police”. Now it has become law in the State of Maine. On July 29, 2026, the public was informed by the media, that so-called “ICE OUT” laws have now gone into effect. These laws are intended to interfere with police agents from The United States Government Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Department. Furthermore, these laws prohibit police officers in the State of Maine from doing their duty to enforce laws, support the Constitution and uphold their oath of office. These laws were passed in the Maine Legislature (without one Republican Vote) and signed by a Democratic Governor. DO WE NEED ANY OTHER REASON TO VOTE REPUBLICAN IN NOVEMBER?
Friends, remember that a similar thing happened in the past: Maine legislators had the great idea to require emissions testing for vehicle inspections, as the State of California did. The law went into effect in the summer before the elections in November. Air quality stations began to be built. However, the citizens revolted, removed the legislators, installed new ones and the law was dropped. CITIZENS: IT IS TIME TO DO IT AGAIN. Our Democratic Governor, Democratic legislators, Democrat Congressman, Democratic York County Sheriff and all other Democrats must go in November!
The “ICE OUT laws” are bad for Maine. Here are the reasons why:
First: they are unconstitutional and when challenged (if not changed by the next Legislature), these laws will be removed. As the new Sheriff of York County, I will do just that. Nevertheless, in the meantime they create confusion and a false hope in the illegal alien community.
Second: they interfere with law enforcement. Imagine politicians telling criminal justice professionals to go against their oath of office. This is exactly what happened during the Vietnam War, when President Johnson tried to run the military from the White House and we all know what happened then.
Third: these laws interfere with the natural, mutual support that law-enforcement officers have for one another. It is my belief that if the York County Sheriff’s Office had been involved with the ICE incident in Biddeford, Maine last month, the individual who was killed would be alive and the ICE officer who did the shooting would not be under investigation.
Fourth: this is a matter of public safety. Illegal immigrants in the United States have killed over 1,700 people and their blood is dripping off the hands of Democrats. How many more have to die?
Fifth: who do you think is paying for the health care, housing, food and clothing of these illegal immigrants? If you answer the government, then ask yourself: where does the government get its money? From You!
Sixth: these laws literally interfere with law enforcement in the performance of their duties. That in itself is a crime. Oh, the confusion the Democratic Legislature has brought to the great state of Maine. How I yearn for the State that was the way life should to be!
Patriots, as I close, please compare the State of Maine to the State of Florida. Florida is Republican-led and Maine is Democratic-led. Florida holds the opposite view of Maine when it comes to illegal immigrants. There are no “ICE OUT Laws” in Florida and these laws must be repealed in the State of Maine as well.
Solution: vote Republican in November! That includes David Corbett for Sheriff.
